FIRE / Financial Freedom Calculator
Calculate the corpus you need to retire early using the safe withdrawal rate method.
The 4% safe withdrawal rate (the “25x rule”) is a widely used FIRE planning assumption, based on historical market studies — adjust it if you want a more conservative or aggressive target.
FIRE corpus needed
₹3,00,00,000
Years to FIRE
15.2 yr
You need a corpus of ₹3,00,00,000 to cover ₹12,00,000/year in expenses at a 4% withdrawal rate — at your current savings rate, you'll reach it in about 15.2 years.
How this calculator works
FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) is about building an investment corpus large enough that its returns can sustainably cover your living expenses forever, calculated as your annual expenses ÷ safe withdrawal rate.
Worked example:with annual expenses of ₹12,00,000 and a 4% safe withdrawal rate, you need a corpus of ₹3 crore to be financially independent. Starting with ₹20,00,000 already saved and investing ₹50,000/month at an expected 10% return, you'd reach that corpus in approximately 15.2 years.
